Fall Prevention Program
As our population continues to age, the incidence and likelihood of injuries resulting from a fall continues to grow. Each year, about one-third of individuals 65 years of age or older will fall even though a number of these could have been prevented with the intervention of appropriate physiotherapy assessment and education. Our clinic recognizes this concern and has developed a fully integrated fall prevention program that provides a summary of the issues, strategies and tools to define and measure falls, identifies risks involved and targets prevention strategies. Each program is individually tailored and is accompanied by a strategic evaluation plan to measure its effectiveness in reducing the risk of injury from a fall. Our therapists work with the client to evaluate the home environment and are particularly skilled in assessing and managing personal and environment risk factors. For an assessment or for more information regarding this program please contact our office manager at 604-951-7345.

Hip and Knee Program
Total hip and knee replacements are among the most commonly performed surgical procedures in Canada. Physiotherapy after total hip or knee replacement surgery is an essential part of post-operative rehabilitation. Our physiotherapists aim to maximize your function and independence and minimize post-operative complications. You are given specific exercises to strengthen your muscles and restore movement for walking and other normal daily activities. Education is an important part of our program and includes a review of hip and knee precautions, anatomical reasoning for restrictions, and safe bed mobility, sleeping postures and transfers. Our clinic also provides land and pool based group programs which are popular and cost effective
